The Art of Andalusia
Cádiz (Spain)
being one of the birthplaces of flamenco provides a hotbead of
young talent who've grown up alongside the passionate art of
flamenco. The
ToqueSur team
focusses on the promotion of artists known as the
"new generation of flamencos".
Acclaimed by flamencologists, critics and audiences alike they are
an excellent example of the new paths of
Flamenco in the 21st Century.
The
word
"toque" in
spanish means "touch". When used in reference to the music of
Flamenco its definition extends to "a way of playing". The people
in the
"sur" or
"south" of Spain have always stood out for their special way of not
only playing, but expressing their unique culture and way of
encountering the world. It is here, in southern Andalusia, where
Flamenco was born.

ToqueSur is
composed of three divisions; Artist Management, Production Services and
Recording Studios.
Created in 2002 in response to the increasing needs of the small
but vibrant music industry in the south of Andalusia. "La Cara B"
recording studios, which at one point was the only professional
studio in the city, became the meeting ground and musical center of
contemporary Flamenco in the area.
As well as in the studio,
ToqueSur has
been technically producing regional and local events since 2002.
From sound engineers, stage managers to production coordinators we
have been a part of it all.
In 2005
ToqueSur expanded
its services to the very artists it had been recording and
producing for years, offering them the much needed service of
Artist Management, dedicated to bringing their music around the
world.
